Concept Overview

1. Heart of Algebra

Focuses on linear equations, systems of equations, and their applications.

  • Solving linear equations and inequalities in one variable

  • Solving systems of linear equations (substitution, elimination, graphing)

  • Interpreting linear equations in context

  • Linear functions: slope, intercepts, graphing

  • Analyzing and solving word problems involving linear equations or systems

  • Representing equations and inequalities graphically

2. Problem Solving and Data Analysis

Covers quantitative reasoning, data interpretation, and proportional reasoning.

  • Ratios, rates, and proportions

  • Units and unit conversions

  • Percentages (including percent increase/decrease)

  • Mean, median, mode, and range

  • Interpreting data from tables, graphs, and charts

  • Probability and relative frequency

  • Scatterplots and linear trends

  • Analyzing and using two-way tables

3. Passport to Advanced Math

Focuses on higher-order algebra and complex equations.

  • Solving quadratic equations (factoring, completing the square, quadratic formula)

  • Interpreting and graphing quadratic functions

  • Exponents and exponential functions

  • Polynomials: operations, factoring, and structure

  • Radicals and rational exponents

  • Solving equations with radicals

  • Rational expressions and equations

  • Systems of equations involving quadratics

  • Interpreting nonlinear expressions and their components

4. Additional Topics in Math

Covers geometry, trigonometry, and other advanced topics.

  • Geometry:

    • Properties of triangles, circles, and other polygons

    • Pythagorean theorem and its applications

    • Volume and surface area of 3D shapes

    • Coordinate geometry (distance, midpoint, slope)

    • Transformations (rotations, reflections, translations, dilations)

    • Congruence and similarity

  • Trigonometry:

    • Sine, cosine, tangent (basic definitions and applications)

    • Right triangle properties

    • Trigonometric ratios in word problems

  • Complex numbers: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • Arithmetic and geometric sequences

5. General Skills

  • Working with multiple-choice and grid-in answers

  • Strategic calculator use for certain sections

  • Applying math concepts to real-world scenarios

  • Time management and pacing for test sections

Notes:

  • Concept Focus: Each Saturday is dedicated to a particular concept or topic, with enough time for practice questions and review.

  • Review & Practice: Some Saturdays may focus on review and practice from the previous weeks, especially towards the end of the schedule.

  • Advanced Practice: The final Saturdays are used to simulate a full practice test, addressing any remaining weak areas before the exam.

SAT Math Test Prep Classes – Purchase Information

Class Schedule:

  • Every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

  • Start Date: June 9th, 2025

  • End Date: August 1st, 2025

Location:

  • In-person sessions will take place at 21150 Box Springs Rd. Suit 201, Moreno Valley, CA 92557

  • Online enrollment available on Zoom.

Payment Policy:

  • Total Cost: $960 per student ($30/hour for 32 hours)

  • A non-refundable payment is required to secure your spot in the class.

  • Payments can be made via cash or card.

  • Once payment is successfully processed, you will receive an email confirmation with all class details.

Class Size:

  • Classes will be conducted in small groups with a maximum of 5 students per class to ensure individual attention and engagement.

Materials Needed:

  • Calculator (Scientific or Graphing recommended for practice)

  • Notebook or paper for note-taking and solving problems during sessions

  • Pen/Pencil for practice exercises
